Dr McCulloch, in conjunction with British Geological Survey, is currently researching longer term records of the nature and timing of dust emissions as archived in UK peatlands in conjunction with the frequency of Icelandic volcanic ash (tephra) deposits. Dr McCulloch has also researched the relationship between the timing of glacial fluctuations in southern Patagonia with increased dust emissions as recorded in Antarctic ice cores.
